4 year old Cuteness

I just have to share some of the "cute" things Emma has done in the past week:
** - Grandma Nonie and Emma are busy playing. Emma gets frustrated and is about to have a tantrum, Grandma says to her "you have a hot temper". Emma reaches up to feel her forehead like she has a fever!
** - The roads were slippery on Monday and we saw a car accident. I told Emma we should say a prayer for those involved in the accident. When I finished she said "Mom, that was the quickest prayer you have ever said!" Then she asks why we prayed. I explained and then she asked where God was, I said everywhere, He is always watching us, "I know, Mom, He is on the side of the car."
** - She is still glued to puppy. She received two new ones for Christmas. Puppy does everything and goes everywhere. Puppy is only allowed in her backpack at ECFE & Preschool. She cannot take her out. During ECFE, she had to upzip her backpack so puppy could peek out and see what everyone was doing.
** - We got new carpet in our living room. She was so excited, she laid down right away and made "snow angels". Then she started doing somersaults across the floor.
** - At her 4 year old check up she received 2 shots. She was a trooper and did well. After the shots she started to cry and then told me that "she didn't like it and it hurted."

4 years old

How can our precious Emma be 4 years old? She is loving the idea of being 4. She was very excited for her birthday. We had a small party for her and she loved all the attention, presents, cake and being with everyone. She cried when the guests started to leave. She is quite the little girl, she is growing up too fast.

Proudly wearing her birthday star sticker from School Readiness.

Emma and Belinda - Emma insisted on wearing her Princess slippers. She loves those slippers. Notice, puppy is never too far away.

Princess Production

We took Emma, Grandma Nonie and Guinainai to the Disney Princess Production - Fairy Tales. It was wonderful. Disney puts on quite the production. Emma LOVES Cinderella. She wore her dress and couldn't wait to see Cinderella. She watched the production in awe. It was wonderful! After the show, we went to Bentleyville and saw the beautiful Christmas light displays. It was a nice evening, not too cold. Emma was thrilled to get a candy cane from Mrs. Claus.

Forever Friends

We were able to visit Anna and her parents in July. They were in Mankato for a few days so we made the trip. It was great to visit Mankato State University and to see lifelong friends. They are so special to us. Anna and Emma acted like they had never been apart. They had so much fun together and it was hard to leave. They played, blew bubbles and enjoyed time at the pool. We are so thankful we were able to see them.

Summer Review

July and August were busy months. We took Emma mini golfing at my cousin's golf course, Pier 77. She loved it!!!

Emma and I picked raspberries at our friend's house. She enjoyed eating them. We were lucky, we picked without getting stung by bees!

We went "pishing." She loved it catching the little sun fish and bass and releasing them. She wanted to bait her hook and take the fish off the hook all by herself. She thought it was great! Her Mickey Mouse "pishing" rod caught a lot of "pish."

We went canoeing a couple of times. We went on St. Mary's and took a picnic lunch. We didn't know how Emma would like sitting still in a canoe, she did fine. So, we went to Ely Lake and took her fishing rod. Well, her Mickey Mouse fishing rod is now at the bottom of Ely Lake. She was casting and the rod flew out of her hands as she casted. We were close to an island, so we could see it on the bottom but couldn't get it. The $15 rod wasn't worth flipping the canoe. She is now the proud owner of a pink(her favorite color) Barbie rod.

Anton left for college. It was hard to see him off, we remember many nights of playing catch, playing hockey, piano lessons, hockey games, band concerts and watching him grow up into a young man. Emma loves him, she knew he was going to college but didn't quite understand what that meant. She loved watching Buster for the weekend.

Emma decided to do her own hair. She was very quiet and had 10 barrettes in her hair. It was quite cute.

Showing off her new Nike shoes from Uncle. She loves her "swish" shoes.

Enjoying the beach in our yard. We spent many afternoons like this, the beach was crowded and Emma liked her pool and the sprinkler.

Her first movie, July 15, Winnie the Pooh, in Duluth. She was so proud that she had her own popcorn. She also went to another movie this summer with Mommy & Uncle: The Smurfs. She was very good and even told me to be quiet. She was the perfect movie partner for Uncle.

3 1/2 years old

Emma in her rocking chair with puppy. Emma with Belinda. Where has the time gone? Our little girl has goten so big.

Taking Emma's 3 1/2 year pictures in July was interesting. She did not want to cooperate. We went to the Fayal park. It didn't go so well because kids were there playing so, of course, she wanted to play! Daddy did take some photos but we decided we were going to go back another time. Needless to say, the next time wasn't that great either, so I thought maybe try the Cinderella dress at home. She had fun running around the yard and losing a "glass slipper" just like Cinderella. Chris finally sad I had to be happy with this last photo shoot. It turned out we did get some great shots during the 3 photo shoots.

Halloween

Emma had a busy Halloween. We attended the fall festival for her ECFE/School Readiness program, attended our church's fall festival, had a party at her School Readiness class, carved pumpkins and went trick-or-treating during the day with Auntie Carol and then we took her again in the evening.

Nicole & Kyle came over to help us carve pumpkins, actually they did most of the work. Emma drew the face on the pumpkin and we carved. She did not like "gutting" the pumpkin, she actually started to gag!!!

Our beautiful Cinderella!

Bad Blogger

If there are any readers left, I apologize for being a bad blogger during the summer. July was a busy month, we had a family reunion! In August, I was trying to catch up from planning and attending the reunion. Then came September and October!! Now I need to catch up on the blog.
Thanks for being a loyal reader! We would love to hear from you, please comment.

SSSSSShhhhhhhhh

On the 4th of July after lunch, Emma had fun playing with Brian. He laid down in hope that she would join him for a little quiet time/nap. Well, she thought she would put Brian to bed. She put a pillow under his head and decided to use the armchair covers to cover him. She also used another pillow to cover his legs, you know, you don't want to catch a chill on a very warm July day!! Then she proceeded to walk around the house and tell everyone "sssshhhh". It was cute. When she wanted him to wake up, she would pull the pillow out from under his head.

Fun with Amy

We have a wonderful Emmasitter - Amy. Emma loves her and they have a lot of fun together - playing, going to the park, having picnic lunches, coloring and doing nails & hair.
This past Friday was quite warm and humid. Amy took Emma to her house to run through the sprinkler. Emma loved chasing Amy & her sister and playing with the hose.
