Skating - "by myself"

As the title states, yes, Emma can skate by herself! She was so excited to wear her hockey jersey and bring her stick and puck to the rink. Daddy helped her for awhile, then she was watching a couple boys skate and wanted to do it by herself. She walks and tries to glide. She fell a couple of times and wanted to get up by herself. She was thrilled to shoot pucks to Daddy. I would not be a good hockey mom. I would be a much better figure skating mom.

Skating

Emma received a pair of skates from our friend. She had grown out of them and wanted to share them with Emma. Thank you! Emma was very excited to go skating. She enjoyed it and really liked it that Mommy & Daddy were both wearing skates. She liked it when Daddy held her and skated around the rink. She was fascinated watching the big kids skate with their hockey sticks. Much to Mommy's dismay and Daddy's delight, she asked for hers and a puck many times.

Disney on Ice

We went to Disney on Ice at the Xcel Center on Friday at 10:00. It was a perfect time. We had wonderful seats, 9th row! Emma was excited to see Mickey and Minnie. She wanted to know if Goofy would be there too, we told her we weren't sure. We showed her a very short 30 second video of the production so she would have some idea of what it would be like.

Mommy and Daddy were very excited to take her. We couldn't wait to see her expressions and we know many of you were waiting to hear if she enjoyed it. She sat still for the entire production, 50 minutes then an intermission and another 45 minutes. We couldn't believe how still she sat and she watched everything. She waved to Mickey & Minnie and was glad Goofy was there too. She got to see Peter Pan fly too. At the end she waved and blew kisses to everyone and asked to watch it again. She didn't want to get her jacket on and go because she wanted to watch it again! She finally got her jacket on when she noticed others were doing the same and leaving.
Waiting to find our seats. She is showing her excited face.
Watching the performance, it was amazing that she sat still for so long.

Exhausted!!! She was asleep within 5 mintues of leaving the parking ramp.

Santa Visit #2

We visited Santa again. This time at the Southdale Mall. She wanted to visit Santa and get a red balloon. The red balloon was definitely an incentive to sit with Santa. She was quite willing to talk with him and sit, mommy didn't have to be in the picture this time. Again, she told Santa that she would like play-doh and a book.

Well, Santa, let me think. I would like some play-doh and a book.

Santa Visit #1

We visited Santa and Mrs. Clause in Gilbert at an old-fashioned Christmas event. She was a little apprehensive so Mommy got to visit with Santa and Mrs. Clause and get in the pictures too.
She talked with Santa and him that she wanted play-doh and a book. She didn't mention a specific kind of book, just a book.

Already a Christmas

We celebrated Christmas with Auntie Jess, Uncle Ry, Meenah & Eryn. We were all very excited to see them. We haven't had the chance to visit for a while. Our visit/Christmas was cut short due to the impending Minneapolis snowstorm.
Emma loved opening presents and enjoyed playing with her gifts with the girls and spending time with them.

Emma and the girls playing with her new Aquadoodle. What a great toy! She loves to "paint". It only uses water so there is no mess and it disolves so it can be used over and over again. A mother had to invent this!

Snowfall

We have received a couple of significant snowfalls in the past couple of weeks. Luckily, nothing like the 20+ inches Minneapolis received this past weekend.
We have helped Daddy shovel. She really likes to help Daddy with anything he is doing. She is his shadow. She has played some outside, but now it has gotten cold, below zero!

Decorating

We decorated for Christmas. Emma has her own Christmas tree, a present from Grandma Nonie. She loves having her own tree and is very proud of it. She decorated it "by myself". She also helped decorate the family tree and put up some other decorations.
Decorating her own tree. She insisted that certain decorations go on her tree, especially Mickey Mouse and Goldy Gopher.

She received a Handy Manny ornament from Mommy & Daddy.

Two years ago we received a wonderful gift, the news of our daughter. What an amazing day! We shared this with so many of you. We saw pictures of her and couldn't wait to have her in our arms.
Sorry there has been a delay in posting. No specific excuse, just busy!
Keep checking this week, I hope to have a few posts.

Fall Festival

Emma enjoyed her Early Childhood Fall Festival. Here she is playing Halloween golf and showing her excitement. She loved getting her face painted. She wanted to look at her pumpkin cheek. She was so excited about it that we had to stop at Grandma Nonie's and Uncle's on our way home so she could show them.

A First - sitting patiently!!!!

She decided to match up the scarecrow's nose with his cheek!

Trick-or-Treat

Emma enjoyed "trick-or-peating." She was really excited about it. She would knock on the door and say "trick-or-peat". She loved all the candy and made herself at home everywhere! She got to enjoy her 1st sucker and loved it!
She had fun at the relatives house and even got to spend some time with her cousins. They put her hair up and Emma was so excited to show everyone there and then at Grandma's house. She was quite the cute Minnie!

Emma taking a break from the trick-or-peat action and playing a tune on Aunty Janet's organ.
Who's Minnie now?

Costumes

I purchased two costumes for Emma's Halloween festivities. I knew that she would need something warm for trick-or-treating, so Piglet was perfect. Well, whenever we would mention the Piglet costume she would quickly say Minnie.
For our Church's Fall Festival, Emma had a meltdown when Chris took out the Piglet costume! So she was Minnie. For her daycare's party, we sent Piglet. I figured she had no choice when that was the only costume. Her teachers said she did great at School wearing the Piglet costume!! That night she even wore it for Nicole.
