Meeting Willa

We were very excited to meet Willa. Our friends just returned from China last week. Willa is gorgeous. She is 2 years younger than Emma. We can't believe their birthdays are only 1 day apart. Emma wasn't too interested in Willa. When I was holding Willa, Emma proclaimed that I was "Emma's Mommy". She did like to play with her when she was in her play saucer and she liked to check out her room. Emma will show Willa many things!
What a bond our two families share! We are excited for our girls to become friends and grow together. The happy family of three!!Emma already showing Willa what to do with her toys.

Emma

What has Emma been doing lately?
She sure is talking. Ask her what her last name is or where she is from and her answer "Milky Way". Daddy has called her Emma Kay of the Milky Way. I guess she has been listening.
Tonight at bedtime, I said "I love you Emma so much. You are Mommy's precious girl." She responds "Mommy, you best ever" Immediately tears in my eyes. She is so precious.
Ask her: Who is your favorite? Her answer "Uncle". Hmmm, wonder who taught her that answer! Uncle has been teaching her lots - she looks at the North Carolina Tar Heels logo - good. Duke logo - bad. Why don't we like Duke? Her answer "They're bad!"
How old are you? "Two half"

She recognizes cars. When we were in the Cities, she was insistent that she saw Annut, Grandma Nonie and Uncle driving their cars.
She loves to count: 1, 2, 8. We have corrected her many times. But it is cute.
She tells you the color of everything. Most of the time she is correct.
She knows her shapes.
Loves to jump on everything.
She loves to golf with Daddy. On Sunday, she walked with Daddy for 3 holes.
She enjoys going to "School" (daycare).
She is potty trained.
Recognizes some letters.
Wants to do many things by herself. She doesn't want help "Emma do it, self."
Loves to watch: Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Dora and Kai-lan
Puppy is still her favorite. We do have 3 puppies. She will tell you which one she wants.

State Fair

We took a little vacation - went to the State Fair, Como Zoo, celebrated Daddy's birthday and did some shopping. Emma enjoyed the trip.
Entering the State Fair, she saw a balloon, she wanted one the rest of the day. We couldn't find one. At least she was content watching everyone and everything. It was a busy day at the Fair. Emma loved wearing her new Dora sunglasses. She got a pair from the Lions' booth and picked a blue pair. She put them on and said thank you, the man handing them out smiled and said she is adorable. She sure has the charm!

This is supposed to be fun, all I have gotten so far is a fan on a stick?

Our Little Farmer

At the State Fair, we went to the Little Farm Hands exhibit. It was very cute and educational. Emma picked corn, rode a tractor, fed a cow, milked the cow, planted a vegetable, picked an apple, fed a sheep and then brought everything to the store to receive money to buy something. Emma chose a bag of chips!
She enjoyed being a farmer, her Grandpa Wes would have been proud. Grandpa Wes would have insisted that she wear cowgirl boots. I know he was watching and smiling the entire time.

Family Picnic

We attended the Nursing Home Family Picnic. It was great seeing Great-Grandma. She is doing very well. After the picnic we went to Aunt Sally's. Emma LOVED playing in the lake. She was swimming and playing for 2 1/2 - 3 hours! She didn't want to come out.

Emma did learn how to work the squirt gun. She sprayed Brittany many times!
