Milestones

Emma now has a "big girl" bed. We transitioned her to the bed and said good-bye to the crib on Wednesday, April 21. Once the bed was moved to the same spot as her crib, she had no more interest in the crib. She waved at it as Chris took it apart. We are still trying to get her to understand that she needs to stay in her bed after story time and prayers. She loves her new found freedom!

Emma is also potty training. We threw the diapers out on Saturday, April 17. Yes, we literally threw the diapers in the garbage. Emma loved that part. She has done quite well. She went to ECFE on Tues and a pancake dinner and no accidents! We were thrilled and proud of her. She is quite proud that she is a big girl now. She loves her underwear - princesses, Minnie and Dora. She wants to put on a new pair all the time.

Chris's leave ends this week. We are not looking forward to this change. But, we are very lucky that Auntie Carol, Grandma Nonie and Nicole will be watching Emma. Emma will go to her daycare "school" one morning a week. We are so thankful for our family!

Emma will be attending her first wedding on Saturday - Brianne and Steve's. We are all looking forward to it. Since she know them so well and Nicole and our Pastors, we are concerned she will be chatting during the ceremony. We are looking forward to seeing family.

Hats

Emma enjoyed wearing this hat. She is also wearing her Grandma's Little Sweetheart sweatshirt. Emma is 27 months old. Where has the time gone? She is getting big. She is saying lots of words. Today she said her first sentence - "my do." Why am I not surprised this was her first "sentence"?!?! She wanted to wear her hat like Uncle. She said "swoosh" and then put her hat on backwards, just like Uncle!

Emma loved Billys boots. She wanted to wear them in the worst way. Brittany helped Emma "wear" Billly's boots.

Tricycle

Emma received a tricycle from Grandma Sandi for Easter. She was so excited when we were looking at them in the store that she wanted to get out of the cart and try it out then! She loves the helmet. She choose Disney Princess. She wears it all over the yard!

She is pushing around on it, instead of pedaling because that is what she is used to doing. She can reach the pedals and actually pedaled twice on Sunday.

Easter

We had a very nice Easter weekend. On Saturday, we visited Chris's family. Emma was excited to see Great-Grandma and her aunties, uncles and cousins. She says Eva with a short sounding E. It is very cute.

Once Great-Grandma was finished with dinner, she told us that her and Emma were ready for dessert - cupcakes. Emma with Great-Grandma and cousin Billy. Emma got a dancing chicken from Auntie Shari. The significance of the dancing chicken is it dances to the "chicken dance". At our wedding reception, Chris had to wear a chicken hat and stand in the center and dance the chicken dance! It is a great memory! Emma was a little unsure of the chicken.

We enjoyed the Easter church services. It was a busy morning for me. Emma sat very well during the church service with her daddy and Godmother. She enjoyed all the music, especially the brass. After church, we went to Auntie Carol & Uncle Bob's for dinner. Grandma Nonie and Uncle Chad joined us. We were going to have an egg hunt outside, but the weather was still rainy and cool. So, Emma hunted for her eggs inside. She was so happy to find an egg and open it to find M&Ms or as Emma calls them Ms. She was excited with just one egg. It was so cute she didn't even notice the basket Carol & Bob gave her because she was looking for more eggs filled with Ms. She liked the golf clubs the Easter bunny left her but really loved the Ms.

After dinner and her nap, Emma played with her toys and watched Uncle Bob take a nap. He was snoring and Emma was trying to immitate him, very cute!

Dyeing Eggs

We had an interesting time dyeing Easter eggs. Emma was crabby at the beginning and had to spend some time in her room before we got started. She had a meltdown and then came out of her room "all done" and was ready to begin. She would get frustrated if she couldn't get the egg out of the mug. It was cute. We bought a Disney Princess dyeing kit. Emma liked putting stickers on the plastic eggs. I couldn't believe it, I broke 3 eggs before we got started and 1 while dyeing the eggs!

Park Fun

The weather has been unseasonably nice. We have been at the park a few times. Last year, Emma was timid and cautious. Not this year, she is climbing the steps, sliding and loves to swing.
