Play Group

We attended our first play group on Saturday. It was wonderful to be with families that have adopted from China and Ethiopia. Everyone got a long great and the kids enjoyed playing together. Two of the families adopted from the Guangxi province (where Emma was born). We had fun visiting with them.
Emma is very social. She sat next to Elyana and said Hi and started to play right away. It was very cute.
Emma is busy watching the limbo........... Should I give this a try?

Changes.....

Well, changes will be happening for us this week. I am returning to work at the School District. It will be hard for me. We are very fortunate because Chris will be taking a leave for three months beginning Thursday. He is looking forward to having this time with Emma. I am sure Emma will adjust to these changes much faster than mommy and daddy. Thanks to Auntie Carol and Grandma Nonie for watching Emma until Daddy's leave starts.

Eye - Ouch!

Well, Emma got her first black eye. It isn't too bad but it is noticeable. She turned around after talking on the phone and slipped and fell onto her new leap frog toy.

She thought she was quite special using the bunny cold pack.

Birthday Party

Celebration!! Emma's party theme was her beloved puppy. Puppy is the stuffed animal that she loves! We have an extra one in case we ever lost puppy. Emma received a brand new one for a gift from Grandma Nonie. She just loves her puppy! Singing "Happy Birthday" to the Birthday Girl! She did a great job blowing out her candles.

She loved opening presents. The best is when she opened a gift bag - she would throw out the tissue paper. It was quite cute.

We played some games - give puppy a bone and dropping "scooby snacks" into a dog dish. We also had puppy chow and scooby snacks as special treats.

2 Years Old

Another first for us as a family - a birthday. Emma turned 2 on Jan 15! Our traditional monthly photos took a different twist.... instead of Belinda (panda) Emma is sitting with Buster. No, Emma did not get a puppy! Buster is Anton's. Emma has grown - she had her 2 year check up last Thursday. She weighs 21 lbs 8 oz and is 33 1/4 inches tall. Her appointment went well. I can't believe I am 2 years old!!!!

Snow!

Emma was getting ready to go outside to play in the snow. She had her daddy's boots on. She loves putting on her boots and walking around the house.Emma loved being pulled in the sled. She wasn't too sure about getting snow on her boots and mittens. Once she realized it was ok, she was off and running. She insisted on helping daddy fill the bird feeders. We are hoping the weather warms up so we can get back outside and play in the snow.

Lintula Hockey

We met Shari, John, Billy, Sally, Claude, Wanda, Brittany, Kevin, Katie and Jonathan in Duluth to watch cousin Brady's hockey game. It was a fun day! Brady scored the first goal of the game! We were all proud. Emma had lots of fun - she was showered with attention. She went shopping, watched hockey and went out for dinner and had NO nap. She did have a small meltdown during dinner. She was asleep in the car within minutes of leaving the parking lot and slept the entire way home.

Future hockey player?
