Care Package

Many waiting families want to send their child a care package. I had learned of a business that will put together a care package and deliver it your child's location. I wanted pictures of us and family included in the care package. So a few months ago I had made an album . On December 16th, I went to the Eveleth Post Office to send the album to China so the business could include it in the care package. The album was sent without a tracking number for $5.40. I thought for sure it would never get to China. I was still happy that I was trying to send our daughter something from us. (I have made another one for when we are with her)
Much to my surprise, on Christmas Day, I received an email from Ann at Redthread, she received the album!!!!! We ordered the care package. It was sent to Emma today. To think she is seeing pictures of her mom and dad and family!
We also sent a letter with much thanks and appreciation to her caretakers and asked a few questions about Emma's daily routine.

Emma's Room

After much debate, we decided to work on Emma's room. Two years ago I purchased a wall paper border with flowers and butterflies. I always knew I wanted the wall paper border to be at a chair rail height. In the last two months I have thought about sponge painting on the bottom half of the wall and making our own border using stencils. Well, we decided to use the original wall paper border and stencil on the bottom half of the wall. We started and finished on Sunday, it took about 6 hours. We have never hung wall paper before, so we were really nervous. It went quite well.
It is just exciting to think we have finally begun to decorate the room!

Papers left for China

We completed the paperwork for the Chinese government on Sunday. We overnighted them to our agency on Monday. Our agency sent our papers along with the other two families papers to China on Wednesday, December 17. Now we have to wait to receive travel approval. Hopefully we hear soon!
We are still on Cloud 9! It has been a busy week - completing paperwork, preparing for Christmas, working and snow shoveling!
