Haircut

It was time for Emma to get another haircut. I have trimmed it a couple of times, but thought a professional haircut was due.
Last night we had our church youth over for a bbq and games. We were hoping to be outside but it rained the entire night. We still had fun playing Apples to Apples and Outburst. Emma loved all the extra attention. At one point, she was in the middle of a circle showing off for everyone. We had a great time with the teenagers.

Are you sure about this Mom?This is how I like to comb my hair.

I like the hairdryer.

Nice job, Katie! I am happy with my new style. Thanks!

Waiting for the church youth to come over

19 Months Old

Traditional photos - on the couch with Belinda and in her rocking chair. She decided she needed her baby doll in the picture too.

Emma had a outfit change during her photo shoot.

I love these photos of her - so serious. They are just precious to me.

Mom, just so you know these photo shoots are a lot of work. I am going to take a break and not smile.

Video - Playing "Boo"

Emma started to say "boo". (Thank you, Nicole!). She loves it! She was playing "boo" with her daddy after supper. It is funny that a 19 month old thinks she can hide behind her sippy cup!

Video - Emma holding her crying baby

My first attempt at posting a video to the blog. Emma will hold her baby and feed her baby. The video clip is what happens when we tell her to hold her baby because she is crying.

July 2009 - Our family reunion photo

February 23, 2009 - our first day home

February 9, 2009 - Family Day - Our first family photo

At times, it still feels like a dream. We can't believe we have been a family for six months. Emma's personality has blossomed. Our family and friends have been wonderful and embraced Emma with open arms. We thank everyone for their continued support and prayers. We are truly blessed. We are going to celebrate on Monday with a dinner. I am making a Chinese meal - fried rice and cashew chicken. I am getting help with the egg rolls, I am ordering them from our local Chinese restaurant.
A little Emma story - Chris and Emma came home from Church before me. He stepped into the kitchen, he noticed that Emma was too quiet. She had opened the curio cabinet and was holding one of my smaller Precious Moments figurines! We need the video camera on her constantly. I would have loved to see her face and Chris's! She has figured out how to open the curio cabinet by leaning on the magnetic door and it pops open. We definitely have a lot of watching to do.

Another Commercial Star?

Like Mother Like Daughter?
My picture was taken in February 2008 when the Flipsides commercial and crackers were released. Emma's picture was taken August 2009. I think we have found a new commercial star. I found Emma getting the Flipsides out of the cabinet. She loves the crackers. We love the new flavor Garlic Herb.

Emma is busy trying to talk. Last night during her bath - she stood up and said "All done". My mom (Grandma Winone) and I looked at each other in amazement. She wants to say book and now she is working on the "Itsy Bitsy Spider" actions.

We went to the St. Louis County Fair on Friday afternoon. Emma liked saying Hi to everyone and waving. We took her to the barns, she liked the cows. The children's barn was too packed so she didn't get to pet anything. We walked around the Midway but didn't ride anything, maybe next year.
We visited Chris's Grandma on Saturday. She is recovering nicely from her broken hip. Soon, she will be able to move back to her assisted living apartment. We also visited with friends at their cabin. The weather has been cool and rainy. Hopefully summer will come soon.

Emma with Dora and Buster. Emma is shaking Buster's paw. She loved petting and playing with Buster. He is a great dog.
